Enjoying Montrose In The Summer
Colorful umbrellas, an abundance of hibiscus, al fresco dining, and great shopping in bike friendly Montrose. This is Summer in "Mayberry".

The summer of 2020 will go down in the history books as one far different than any of us have experienced in our lifetimes. With so much news swirling about it is more important than ever to take some time for ourselves. Step away. Take a break. Breathe in some fresh air. What an oasis we have in Montrose! Thankfully several of our restaurants have patios. This one, at ALISSA'S OCEAN VIEW BAR & GRILL, is making the most of a good thing. Colorful, shady umbrellas by day and twinkling white lights by night.

The dinner menu has a nice emphasis on fresh seafood. Their famous Fish & Chips or Whitefish Piccata are both winners and the daily specials are very tempting. On this evening, the grilled Salmon with a Soy Ginger glaze was patio perfection.

Meanwhile on Honolulu Ave. the parklets are in full swing. Initially six were installed. Recently two more have been added bringing the total to eight. They are assigned to restaurants that have been permitted to operate outdoors through the City Of Glendale. Shoppers and diners just love them! Colorful umbrellas provide shade during the day and at night our Southern California weather is just the thing for alfresco dining.
