Eugene O’Neill’s “Marco Millions” will be staged by the Glendale Community College Theatre Arts Department in the Auditorium Studio Theatre for eight performances beginning May 3.
“Marco Millions” is the story of Marco Polo, dynamic young explorer of the Far East, as told by one America's leading playwrights. O'Neill clearly takes aim at the politics of his time, and ends up with a beautiful and poignant allegory for all time. Young Marco is a man eager for success - some might even say "destined" for it. But how that success is achieved, and what it might ultimately cost, becomes the focus of this rarely performed masterpiece. Matt Foyer is the director.
Performances of “Marco Millions” will be held at 8 p.m. on May 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12. Matinees are May 6 and 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission and $12 for students and seniors. They can be purchased online at www.glendalearts.org or at the college box office in the Auditorium and other Glendale locations. Seating in the Studio Theatre is limited and there is no late seating. For ticket and parking information, go to www.glendale.edu/theatre. The college is located at 1500 N. Verdugo Rd.
