Montrose County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Montrose County is August 15 for secondary school, August 21 for grades 1-5 and August 23 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Montrose County School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

• 12/21: End of Second Quarter
• 12/22 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: No School for Students (Professional Development)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
