Montrose Home Of National Flag Week
Proclaimed by President Lyndon Johnson in June of 1966, National Flag Week started right here in Montrose!

"I pledge allegiance to the flag..." NATIONAL FLAG WEEK is being celebrated across the USA June 10th - 16th. Did you know it all started right here in MONTROSE! Back in the day, Montrose barbershop owner VITO CANNELLA and some other local business men began gathering signatures to celebrate our flag and what it stands for, not just for one day, but a whole week. President Lyndon Johnson then signed the proclamation designating National Flag Week in June of 1966.
