Montrose Remembers In A Meaningful Way On Memorial Day
The Montrose Memorial Day Ceremony, to honor those who gave their lives for our freedom, will take place this Monday at 7:30 am

It's a Montrose tradition that Bagpiper BOBBY KILGORE begin the MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY that takes place every year at the corner of Honolulu & Ocean View, the sight of the oldest Vietnam Memorial in the country. It is a small town remembrance that is especially meaningful to the group of Montrose merchants, neighbors, first responders, scout troops, and dignitaries that gather together each year.
This year's ceremony was organized by STEVE PIERCE and DALE DAWSON of the Montrose Shopping Park Association and VICTORIA MALONE of the Montrose Chamber Of Commerce. Those brave men who died serving our country and protecting our freedom will be honored in a variety of ways.
Local dignitaries including L.A. County Supervisor KATHRYN BARGER, Glendale Mayor ARA NAJARIAN, and California State Assembly Member LAURA FRIEDMAN will speak and take part in a program that includes song, a poem recital, flower presentation, flag raising, pledge of allegiance, taps, and more.
