Newly Opened Tenjin Puts Montrose On The Authentic Ramen Map
Tenjin's soft opening features a menu specializing in delicious Ramen with authentic Japanese chicken broth.

Welcome to TENJIN, the newest restaurant in the MONTROSE SHOPPING PARK specializing in RAMEN and not just ordinary Ramen mind you! The owners have relatives in Japan, a small town called KUMAMOTO to be exact. There a family of restaurateurs has been serving their authentic Ramen for three generations. Now their secret recipe using CHICKEN BROTH is being served right here in Montrose!
Meet Chef and Owner VINCENT KO (left) pictured with head waiter George Kim. Vincent was born in Korea, grew up in Argentina, and ultimately joined his family in the USA where he had a business in the garment industry. He speaks three languages, has always had a passion for Japanese cuisine, and decided to follow his heart opening his first restaurant in Montrose.
The new restaurant, right across the street from The Black Cow Cafe, has been totally revamped. Everything is new, clean, and contemporary with flattering lighting.

The soft opening menu is very focused and descriptive of ingredients with emphasis on the secret Japanese recipe Ramen.
Look at this beautiful presentation! This is the WONTON RAMEN, one of four ramen varieties served featuring the secret recipe, house made, chicken broth. Most Ramen is made with a pork based broth which can be heavy and fatty. The Chicken base results in a lighter, fresh flavor. Add noodles and dumplings in the same bowl and you've got a comfort food sensation. This steaming hot bowl of slurpy goodness is rounded out with green onions, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, dried seaweed, and Naruto (fish cake).

This may well be one of the best FRIED RICE dishes on the planet! So simple, yet so complex, with a generous portion of white rice that's subtlety enhanced with just the right amount of egg, pork chashu, green onion, and takana, a pickled mustard leaf. It's a must order!
Have you ever tried AGEDASHI TOFU? If not, 2020 is your year and Tenjin is your place. It's an art form here of fried tofu perfectly stacked on a square plate and piled high with bonito flakes, a dried, smoked, fish. Green onions, minced ginger, and grated radish round out the flavors along with a sweet/salty tsuyu sauce.
It's so exciting to be among the first to try a brand new restaurant! Order a cup of hot tea and peruse the menu. As for me I'm looking forward to going back several times and trying the fried chicken, chicken curry, and signature ramen.
TENJIN is located at 2232 Honolulu Ave. in the Montrose Shopping Park.
