Police Search Triggers Lincoln Elementary Lockdown
A robbery occurred north of the school, authorities said.

Glendale Police's search for a robbery suspect prompted a short, post-dismissal lockdown of Lincoln Elementary School Wednesday afternoon, according to Glendale Police and Lincoln Elementary principal Steve Williams.
The alleged robbery took place north of the school, said Sgt. Tigran Topadzhikyan of Glendale Police. The school's lockdown was lifted shortly after its 2:45 p.m. start when it was determined that no danger to the public existed, the sergeant told Patch.
Williams said that an officer came by the school and informed him that the suspect's whereabouts were unknown, and that in such situations, "we put on the lockdown first and ask questions later." Williams also added that most of the school's students were gone by the time of the lockdown.
