A big inning for La Salle High School in Pasadena was enough to secure a 3-1 victory over Crescenta Valley High School in Tuesday afternoon's CIF Southern Section Division III wild-card contest, according to the Glendale News-Press.
Taylor Hill's solo blast put the Falcons on the scoreboard, but La Salle rolled up all of its offense in the fifth inning with a combination of singles, sacrifices and a squeeze play -- small ball, as the Lancers coach told it to the News-Press.
