Thee Elbow Room & Shawerma Kingdom In A Scenic Montrose Parklet

Two neighboring Montrose restaurants join together to serve their specialties in a new alfresco way.

There's a quiet little table in the corner and it just may have your name on it. Who would ever guess you could have a prime seat right on Honolulu Ave. surrounded by your favorite shops and shaded by giant trees! The CITY OF GLENDALE was one of the very first in the state to get the parklet concept going. They made it happen and fast, just before the restaurants were told, once again, no indoor dining. THANK YOU CITY OF GLENDALE for the parklets! Meanwhile the Montrose restauranteurs are embracing this new way of doing business and the patrons are loving it.

THEE ELBOW ROOM owner CRISTAL ARGUELLES has put together a simple menu with daily specials that compliments their specialty craft beers. The GRILLED SAUSAGE PLATE is big enough to share with two different sausages, house made kraut, gourmet mustards, and pretzel rolls.

Dining options include their outdoor patio featuring generous umbrellas and welcoming white lights as well as the new parklet which they are sharing with their neighbor Shawerma Kingdom.

SHAWERMA KINGDOM is a new restaurant that opened their doors in the Montrose Shopping Park last year. Owner VIC KARAKOSSIAN specializes in fresh, Mediterranean cuisine. The red doors are eye catching with alfresco dining in front and at the parklet.

Executive Chef GEO IKNADIOSSIAN takes pride in serving and creating fresh, seasonal dishes.

The FALAFEL APPETIZER is a great way to start your meal with Chef Geo's house made falafel and pickled accompaniments. Lots of healthy flavor on this plate which can also be ordered as a platter with rice or fries, hummus, and salad.

And the view? Spectacular all around. Don't forget to look up. Montrose's giant trees are awesome and woven with twinkling white lights. Find Thee Elbow Room at 2418 Honolulu, next to Shawerma Kingdom at 2420. Only in Montrose.
