“Tiny Turtles” Classes Begin at CCNS
The Crescenta-Cañada Cooperative Nursery School has recently expanded their offerings with classes for younger kids

Already known in the Crescenta Valley for providing an exceptional pre-school experience for kids ages 3 to 4, the Crescenta-Cañada Cooperative Nursery School has recently expanded their offerings with classes for younger kids! The “Tiny Turtle” program is a great new program that helps children just out of the toddler stage learn the basics of interacting in a classroom environment.
The new “Turtles” are kids just turning three years old, so they’re a bit younger than the “Darling Ducks” and “Busy Bears” who have their own classes and curriculum. Under the care and guidance of teacher Nancy Doloszycki they explore their environment with rug-time activities, songs and felt board stories, and experimentation with art projects using paint, markers, Play-Doh, and other fun art media. They also learn skills that will help guide them through their coming school years: how to play and share with classmates, and how to follow classroom routines like washing hands and walking in line.
CCNS has a huge play yard and a pond area, and the Tiny Turtles are becoming acquainted with that as well. It’s a big world out there, and here at CCNS these children are taking their first tentative steps into it–with the guidance of teachers who care, and parents who help make the school a special place.
