Valeu Espetos Chef Tony Park Brings Brazilian Cuisine To Montrose
Experience the tastes of Brazil at Montrose's newest restaurant VALEU ESPETOS.

You had me at CHEESE WAFFLES! Who doesn't love waffles? And then you add cheese to the equation and Ding! Ding! Ding! There should be a line out the door and will be when these are discovered. Warm and made to order, FROM SCRATCH!, as everything is at VALEU ESPETOS. The waffles are a must with every order. The soft cheese center guarantees they will disappear quickly. Called PAO DE QUEIJO they can be ordered as a two or four piece side.
Born in Korea, Chef TONY PARK spent thirty years living in Brazil. He fell in love with the cuisine, and being a foodie, decided to bring it to Los Angeles. As a result there are taste sensations in this restaurant that have never been available in Montrose before.

Begin with GUARANA ANTARCTICA, a fizzy soda made from exotic berries found in the Amazon rain forest. A refreshing new experience to compliment your meal.

Valeu Espetos means "good skewers" and this is their number one category. There are several to choose from including BEEF marinated in house sauce and cilantro, BULGOGGI beef marinated in Korean sauce, hot and sweet CHICKEN WINGS, and PORK BELLY marinated in oil and garlic. All four pictured above are succulent and delicious. Vegetarian skewers are available also.

EMPANADAS and CROQUETTES compliment the skewers nicely. Fried to order, fillings include various combos such as beef and chicken.

Waffles! Skewers! Fried goodies! Are you getting the picture? White rice is available also. Now here's the kicker...

Chef Tony's SECRET SAUCE!!! Warning: It is HOT so test it first. But that taste will have you coming back for more. I tried to get the recipe to no avail, however a key ingredient is Brazilian Chili. For those less adventurous there is a fresh, house made salsa that adds that extra pizazz. In Brazil they also use FAROFA, a mild Yucca powder as a seasoning on their meat skewers.

Be sure to save room for dessert. The homemade FLAN comes swimming in a pool of caramel sauce and it goes down easy. The perfect finale to an exciting meal.
So come check out the atmosphere as you escape to Brazil in Montrose!
