Voters Defeat Measure A, Manoukian is a Lock for City Treasurer

City Councilman Rafi Manoukian's bid to defeat Measure A proved successful, ensuring he will take office as Glendale's city treasurer.
Measure A would have reclassified the office from an elected to an appointed position, throwing Manoukian's future as city treasurer in limbo — even though he was the sole candidate for the job.
Just 4,001 voters voted in favor of Measure A, while 11,602 voted against it.
