What It's Like To Ride In The Montrose Christmas Parade

The 43rd Annual MONTROSE CHRISTMAS PARADE takes place on scenic Honolulu Ave. THIS SATURDAY, December 7, rain or shine. It features all things family and local including scout troops, school bands, businesses, and dignitaries. It's a happy day when you get to ride in the MONTROSE CHRISTMAS PARADE! This is the check in point for the VIP's and parade sponsors.

This year's VIP area is once again being held at TOWN KITCHEN & GRILL. A buffet dinner is served and it's a joyous time with lots of photos being taken. Here Glendale City Manager YASMIN BEERS poses with her daughter.

The parade is well organized by the Montrose Parade Association. When it's your turn in the lineup you are escorted to your spot. Glendale Mayor ARA NAJARIAN shares a ride with KEN GRAYSON of GRAYSON'S TUNE TOWN.

The MONTROSE SHOPPING PARK ASSOCIATION (MSPA) along with the CITY OF GLENDALE are platinum sponsors of the parade. Here the MSPA Board and service agents get ready to ride.

It is thrilling to make your way down Honolulu Ave. waving to cheering crowds.

Approaching the intersection of Honolulu & Ocean View is just breathtaking! Surely a Norman Rockwell, Mayberry, Bedford Falls, Mitford moment!

The merchants all along the route get a birds eye view of the festivities. ARTHUR MURRAY GLENDALE owner ERICK PADILLA gives an enthusiastic shout out.

Alas the ride has come to an end. Time for one last photo before we join the crowds for the rest of the parade.

The theme for this year's parade is "OUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT". The Grand Marshall's are the CV HIGH FOOTBALL CIF SS DIVISION 10 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. The event takes place from 6:10 - 9 pm with Santa flying overhead in a helicopter at the beginning. As of this writing rain may be in the forecast which just adds to the sense of adventure.
