Why This Weekend's Montrose Arts & Crafts Festival Is The Best
The 36th Annual Montrose Arts & Crafts Festival takes place THIS WEEKEND, June 1 & 2. Everything is handmade featuring hundreds of artisans.

The biggest shopping weekend of the year will take place THIS WEEKEND at the 36th ANNUAL MONTROSE ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL. This year's show has been revamped and is expected to be the most dynamic show yet! Totally booked and with a waiting list, there will be literally hundreds of fine artisans and crafters setting up their wares from all over the USA. Live music, festival food, a kids zone, wine garden, and Harvest Market round out the mix.
The emphasis is on ALL HANDMADE GOODS. There is absolutely NO RESALE or mass produced goods allowed. This is a show where you will want to browse every booth from the 2200 to the 2400 block of Honolulu Ave. Entries were carefully curated with a variety of fine art, crafts, clothing handmade by the artist, pottery, jewelry, garden finds, handcrafted furniture, and more.
First class entertainment was booked far in advance to get the best. THE PLOUGHBOYS, specializing in Irish and Celtic music, are the headline band on a new center stage at the intersection of Honolulu & Ocean View. Sharing the stage is The MOJO FILTER BLUES BAND, a 7 piece group with a female singer and brass section. The MAN IN WHITE also is a must see. He is a human "statue" that plays live music on a whim. Fascinating to watch!

There's nothing like the enticing smells of festival food. At the International Food Court, in addition to barbecued chicken, burgers, and dogs there will be more exotic treats like chargrilled octopus on a stick. Also new is a wine garden behind the big stage on Ocean View.
All of this is framed with over 150 one of a kind boutiques and cafes that compromise the Montrose Shopping Park. The local merchants, who sponsor this event, gear up for the show with the latest merchandise and perhaps a sidewalk sale. This truly is the weekend to SHOP MONTROSE. Admission to the festival is free as is the live entertainment. The festival takes place Saturday & Sunday June 1 &2 on Honolulu Ave. For more information see www.shopmontrose.com
