Art for a Healing Space celebrates Carina Corina
Blending contemporary and traditional art - blending art and life
Carina Corina is now on display at the acupuncture office of David Lee as part of Art for a Healing Space, a collaborative opportunity for artists.
Blending contemporary and traditional art - blending art and life
Carina King, Cherokee and Yurok tribe of Northern California, is the co-founder of California Native Glass. Carina fuses glass and traditional Yurok art and pictorial language into one of a kind contemporary forms. Her life and art bridge past and present; grounded in their connection to the land, the trees, the rivers, the salmon. Carina's art reminds us that she and the Yurok nation are still here, embracing tradition as source, embracing nature as source, greeting each new day with open eyes and ancient wisdom.

Corina Roberts is the founder of Redbird, a Native American and environmental nonprofit association established in 1990. Redbird is grounded in the concept and tradition of Mitakuye Oyasin - "we are all related". Redbird is both Corina's art and life, embracing and communicating its source in tradition and nature. Corina uses images and writing to convey respect, understanding and awareness that our lives are connected to all lives and to the land and spirit that gives us all life.
Art for a Healing Space offers artists the opportunity to show their work in "micro-galleries" - the acupuncture treatment rooms of David Lee Acupuncture. The office is located at 166 Moorpark Road, Suite 201, in Thousand Oaks. David's approach to healing and wellness is inclusive; one which incorporates healing practices across cultures, and recognizes each person's unique physiology. Art itself can be healing and transformative, for the artist and for the appreciator of the art. The blending of art and healing is a natural union.
