Update: 45-Acre Brush Fire Northeast of Fillmore Is 20 Percent Contained

The Ventura County Fire Department reports that the forward progress of the fire has been stopped.

Update, 5:50 p.m.: The Ventura County Fire Department reports "the Condor Fire near Fillmore is now at 45 acres with 20 percent containment. The forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Three helicopters are working the fire but are expected to be released soon, the fixed-wing aircraft have been released. No structures were threatened and there have been no injuries. Firefighters will remain on scene overnight increasing containment lines and mopping up."

Previous story: A 20-acre brush fire is burning in rugged terrain at the Condor Ranch northeast of Fillmore.

Labled the Condor Fire, the Ventura County Fire Department has a helicopter working the fire from the air, and four fixed-wing tankers en route to the scene near 1400 Telegraph Rd. and Highway 126.

There are 75 firefighters battling the growing blaze.
