Conejo Valley YMCA's 13th Annual "Turkey Day Dash" on Thanksgiving Morning

All ages and abilities are welcome.

The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting its 13th annual Turkey Day Dash on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 23. The 5K run/walk and 1K family fun run/walk is held at California Lutheran University (60 West Olsen Rd., Thousand Oaks). The length of the races are short enough so everyone can get an early morning workout and still make it home in time to prepare for a Thanksgiving gathering.

All ages and abilities are welcome. Professional timing is provided for 5K runners. The 1K family fun run/walk is at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K run/walk starts at 8:00 a.m. The annual costume contest takes place at 7:15, just before the start of the 1K run/walk. Come dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving Day costume. The top three winners with the craziest and most unique costumes receive prizes. Dress as a group or individually.

Proceeds from the Turkey Day Dash benefit Conejo Valley YMCA youth, family and senior programs. “The YMCA encourages community members to lead healthier, more active lives,” says Allison Wilson, the Y’s healthy living director. “The funds raised from the Turkey Day Dash make a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own community. The funds help us offer financial assistance so that everyone can participate in our programs regardless of ability to pay.”
