Fall Simi YMCA Swim Sessions Begin Sept. 4
YMCA swim classes emphasize water safety, swimming skills and endurance.

Swim season can last almost year round in Simi Valley. Parents who feel their children need to improve their swim skills can sign up their kids for swim lessons at the Simi Valley Family YMCA. Swim lessons begin September 4 and take place at the Simi Y’s heated indoor swimming pool (3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley).
YMCA swim classes emphasize water safety, swimming skills and endurance. Thirty-minute group lessons are held once a week on Mondays through Thursdays after school and in the early evening (a twice-a-week option is available). Swimmers can sign up for private and Saturday lessons. Parents who are unsure of their child’s swim level can bring their child to the YMCA for evaluation.
Classes are divided by age and skill levels including parent and tot (swim diaper required). Advanced swim lessons are held for kids ages six through 14 who want to compete for the Simi Y’s swim team. Swim classes are also available for kids with special needs.
