As it does annually, Moorpark's American Legion post will honor with two Memorial Day community ceremonies military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The first will be a flag replacement ceremony at Memorial Triangle, the grassy area of the corner in front of The Grinder restaurant at Moorpark and Los Angeles avenues. Boy Scout Troop 604 will participate in this ceremony, which will run from 8 to 8:15 a.m.
A larger ceremony featuring guest Lt. Chris Miller, commanding officer of the Channel Islands Harbor Coast Guard stations, will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Moorpark Veterans Memorial. The memorial is on the corner of Spring Road and Flinn Avenue.
The public is invited to attend both events.
