Clyde Butcher, at 78, is still snapping photos of the Florida Everglades and Big Cypress Swamp in Florida as he has for the past 36 years. This, despite a stroke that landed him in a wheelchair three years ago. His love for the Everglades was undiminished, and in 6 months, Clyde went from hardly being able to get into his wheelchair, to making his way with his trusty walker through swamps, over rocks, into the sea, and wherever else he needs to go to catch that elusive photograph.

Clyde rejoices in being able to share the astonishing beauty of nature. His preference is to enlarge his photographs to 8 feet wide so that viewers can get the feeling of almost being there. Quite an art.
