Meet An “Amazing” Who Cares For Those Too Often Ignored.
Dame Esther Rantzen, 80, is all about helping those in need who are too often left by the wayside.

Dame Esther Rantzen, at 80, is all about helping those in need who are too often left by the wayside, whether they be children, the elderly or the disabled--and their caregivers.
Dame Esther’s primary way of doing so has been through establishing a number of helplines --ChildLine, Revitalize, Erosh and Silver Line--where people suffering abuse of various kinds call in confidentially and receive information, friendship and advice. Such calls include issues rarely thought of as abuse. For example, loneliness and grieving, too often thought of as “not that serious” by those not experiencing the pain.
Dame Esther’s career as a journalist and television host of the BBC series That's Life! for 21 years earned her the cherished OBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire), awarded by the Queen, for her contributions to broadcasting. Later she was made a Dame for her services to children and older people through ChildLine and The Silver Line. Truly a caring soul.
