Meet An “Amazing” Who Doesn’t Let Age Interfere With Adventures

Frank Rothwell, at 70, rowed by himself all 3,000 miles across the Atlantic, traveling both day and night. The journey took him 6 weeks during which time he raised over $1 million for Alzheimer's Research UK, a cause dear to him as he lost his brother-in-law to the debilitating disease.
Frank’s schedule was arduous; he alternated 2 hours of sleep with 2 hours of rowing that whole time. But the most difficult part, he says, was the loneliness. Frank missed his wife of 50 years, Judith – and longed for a good steak. This isn’t the first time Frank has met a challenge. He sailed around the world from 2000 to 2003, has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, spent five weeks on a deserted island for the TV series “The Island with Bear Grylls,” and circumnavigated North and South America. No wonder Frank’s motto is “You’re never too old."
