Tina Turner, at 80, has the joy of seeing a show based on her life, “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,” premiere on Broadway, having previously opened in London. Not only that, but she was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2019, on the heels of receiving the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2018, the latest of her 12 Grammy awards.
She has been called the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll, having sold over 200 million records world-wide. Quite a different life-path for a woman who was first a domestic worker, then a nurse’s aide, before joining up with Ike Turner on her way to singing stardom.
