Meet An “Amazing” Who Sings And Gives With A Great Heart

Shirley Ann Caesar, at 81, known as “The First Lady of Gospel,” continues to tour the world and record as she has for over 60 years, thrilling us with her astonishing talent. Shirley started singing when she was still in school, which meant she could only sing on weekends, because weekdays were for studying.

Although Shirley wanted to continue with college, she left that behind to pursue her singing career until she was in her mid-forties when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Winner of 12 Grammy awards in addition to her Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award and a whole host of other honors, Shirley has sung before more than one President, and has her very own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Somehow in all of this, Shirley still manages to find time for her annual outreach ministries conference, which provides food, clothing, shelter, toys for children and financial assistance to those in need. A great heart as well as a great talent, how wonderful.
