Meet An “Amazing” Who Thrives On Flying Adventures
For her 100th birthday, Dorothy flew to the South Pole – for the third time, no less.

Dorothy Harris, at 107, still lives on her own, walks pretty much everywhere, knits, crochets, tends to her garden, and is known to be always “out there, helping someone.” In addition, Dorothy volunteered for the Red Cross and other charities for 70 years. She raised 11 children, mostly on her own. But the most amazing thing about Dorothy is her love of adventure. In particular, flying.
For her 100th birthday, Dorothy flew to the South Pole – for the third time, no less. And although this year’s pandemic made it impossible for her to celebrate her 107th in similar grand style, Dorothy is quite content. She holds fond memories of flying for the first time, when she was all of 14, with pioneering aviator Charles Kingsford Smith. What a super way to be introduced to the wild blue yonder.
