Simi Valley YMCA Hosts Y-Guides Information Night October 18

Activities include campouts, Pinewood Derby, games and crafts.

An information night for families interested in the Simi Valley Family YMCA's Y Guides will take place Thursday, October 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Y Guides is designed to help families grow stronger together. It is for parents (or a significant adult in the children’s lives) and their children, ages 5 through 11. The adult and child must attend program activities together as a pair. Y Guides participants are grouped by neighborhood, age and by gender. Each family is assigned to a Circle of 5-10 parent-child pairs that meets regularly.

In Y Guides, the adult is the Guide, and the child is the Explorer. Activities include campouts, Pinewood Derby, games and crafts. A primary goal of Y Guides is to instill the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility as well as set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child.
