Thefts Occurring During Local Church Services

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who has been stealing from women's purses during local church services.

Over the past several months, someone has stolen credit cards and cash from unattended purses while parishioners were taking communion. The suspect then used the credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at local stores, the report said., according to a report from the Ventura County Sheriff's Moorpark Station.

The crimes have occurred in churches in the Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Simi Valley area, the report said.

Thousand Oaks Police believe the man in the attached photo to be the same suspect in all the thefts.

Investigators also believe the thefts may have occurred at other churches in the area.

The suspect is described as:

-White male in his early twenties 
-Possibly having blue eyes 
-Thin build (160 lbs) 
-Height - 5’-8”– 5’-10” 
-Light brown hair
