A traffic accident in Thousand Oaks Monday morning left one person dead and another injured, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
The accident occurred on Lynn Road at about 10:50 a.m. when a 31-year-old man from Ventura traveling westbound in a Ford Ranger pick-up truck collided with an Acura Legend driven by an 86-year-old woman from Thousand Oaks as she attempted to turn left onto eastbound Lynn Road from East Kelley Road.
The cause of the collision, which occurred in the intersection and caused major damage to both vehicles, is under investigation.
The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to Los Robles Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.
The driver of the Acura was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of the kin.
The Thousand Oaks Police Department is asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to call the TOPD Traffic Bureau at 805-494-8271.
