Panera Bread to Open in Mountain View

The popular bakery, salad and coffee shop replaces the old Blockbuster at El Monte Center.

Missouri-based Panera Bread through agents SRS Real Estate Partners announced Tuesday that it would open its first location in Mountain View.

The bakery-cafe has leased a 4,518-square-foot space at 1035 El Monte Ave., at the former site of the Blockbuster Video. This brings more food options to the shopping center, which already includes Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Chipotle and Pizza My Heart.

Panera reported its quarterly earnings on Feb. 5, 2013 and announced a 29 percent increase in revenue year-to-year from Dec. 2011 to Dec. 2012.
