Gucci Fashion Mogul Lists Lavish Napa Valley Estate For $26.5M

Maria Manetti Shrem has called Villa Mille Rose —a 7,900-square-foot Tuscan villa on 19 acres in Oakville —home for more than three decades.

OAKVILLE, CA — Maria Manetti Shrem, the woman credited with helping bring Gucci products to U.S. department stores, is selling her lavish Tuscany-inspired Napa Valley estate: Villa Mille Rose.

The 19-acre property on Money Road in Oakville features vineyards, olive groves and gardens but its main attraction is a palatial, 7,900-square-foot villa with 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms (12 full, two half).

Shrem, a personal friend of Prince Charles and the namesake, along with her husband Jan Shrem, of the UC Davis Museum of Art, has called the exquisite wine country villa home for more than three decades.

According to an article on Realtor.com, Shrem, now 80, also owns homes in San Francisco and her native Italy but seeks to sell Villa Mille Rose to simplify her busy life.
