Alameda County Grades Newark's Food Vendors
Patch compiled health reports for all the places that sell food in Alameda County. Take a look at our interactive map to see how your favorite restaurant did during its latest inspection

We trust restaurants to feed us on the days weāre too tired to cook, to supplement our pantries with chicken fajita dinner plates and chips and salsa. We can call the restaurant to ask for special sauces and request extra napkins, so we donāt smudge our iPads with hot sauce. What we canāt do is be in the kitchen while the cooks are preparing the meals.Ā
Alameda County is handling the situation. They send inspectors to restaurants and other places that sell food to make sure they are complying with health codes that mandate a plethora of things. Some health codes laws say food vendors must keep perishables at certain temperatures while in storage and others say hand-washing stations must be available for employees.Ā
After inspection, food vendors are given a placard that showcases health ratings.Ā
