Newark Memorial High School is looking for an assistant principal according to a job listing on Edjoin.org.

The advertised pay ranges between $93,809 and $113,019 a year for 210 days worked.

The job description is four pages long. It includes a variety of tasks from creating schedules and budgets, to motivating staff and students -- as well as serving as chief administrator in the absence of principal Edward Marquez. 

The application deadline is 4 p.m. on April 19.

Newark Memorial High took its present form in 1983 as part of a district reorganization.

According to its Wikipedia profile, the school has:

  • a 25,000-square-foot technology center 
  • a Student Commons dedicated in 2004
  • a 2,576-seat multipurpose gymnasium
  • 10 or more teams for both boys' and girls' sports
  • active theater and choir groups, and a school band.

Wikipedia says the school had 1,945 students in 2010. In ethnic and racial makeup, the student body that year was 34.5 percent Hispanic; 30.8 percent non-Hispanic white; 13.4 percent Asian; 10.8 percent Filipino; 8.1 percent African-American; 1.9% Pacific Islander and 0.5% Native American.
