Holiday Toy Drive Launched In Newark

The Newark Police Department annual toy drive is underway.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police patrol officers bought toys with their own money over the holiday weekend and donated them to the police department's annual toy drive.

New, unwrapped toys are being collected between now and December 15. there are donation bins are in the police station lobby.

Police said in a Facebook appeal, "This year our toy drive recipients will be families affected by domestic violence and children caught up in the horrible cycle of domestic violence. We have teamed up with SAVE and CALICO, to ensure these young children experience a wonderful holiday."
