NEWARK, CA — The sweet boy in the photo above is named Riley and he's been missing for about two weeks. His family is desperate for him to come home.

Tiara Hanna has put up posters and shared this flyer on social media, but there have been no recent sightings. She tells Patch, "Riley has been my companion since he was 8 weeks old. He's been by my side for nearly half of my lifetime, and my family & I are completely devastated without him. We just want him home."

Riley is now 12-years-old, but Tiara says he still has spunk and energy. He left home on May 26 and was last seen on the afternoon the 27th on Thornton Avenue near Cherry.

Riley weighs 60 pounds, and is a neutered cattle dog mix. He is microchipped but was not wearing a collar at the time he bolted from home.

"He is a sweetheart," Tiara said in an email, "but he's smart and stubborn and is not trusting of strangers. He will likely not come to someone he doesn't know. I ask that people please do not chase or call to him. The best option is to call me at 510-304-8967 immediately if anyone thinks they see him."
