Man Killed In Newark Crash

The crash happened early Monday morning.

NEWARK, CA — A 24-year-old man died after crashing into a tree early Monday morning, Newark police said.

Newark officers and the Alameda County Fire Department responded to the crash shortly before 3 a.m. in the 35000 block of Cedar Boulevard.

Medical aid was given to the driver, the only person in the vehicle, but he died of his injuries at the scene, police said.

The preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle was going westbound on Cedar Boulevard when it crossed both westbound lanes and struck a tree in the center median.
