Shirley Baumann: Newark resident Baumann died July 5. She was 76.

Manuelas Cardenas: Newark resident Cardenas died June 26. She was 83. She worked for Oakland Unified School Districts for 26 years as an interpreter and campus supervisor.

Louis Ferretti: Ferretti, 74, died June 30 of cancer. He founded Beauty Mart Supply in 1982. 

Joseph "Coach Joe" Shamie: Shamie was 73 when he died on July 5. He coached for Fremont Football League for more than 30 years.
