Newark Fireworks Hotline To Report Illegal Fireworks

Police say they caught a man setting off fireworks. He was cited and released, and his remain fireworks were confiscated.

NEWARK, CA — In response to complaints from residents, the Newark Police Department continues to pursue people setting off illegal fireworks.

Officer Johnson found a 29-year old Newark man with illegal fireworks in the area of Walnut and Spruce Streets. The man was cited and released, and his remaining fireworks were seized.

Catching folks in the act of lighting off illegal fireworks is challenging but we are committed to serving our community and enforcing our zero tolerance stance.
