Pet Killed In Newark House Fire

The fire department reports that none of the five people who live in the home was injured.

NEWARK, CA — One pet was killed, but none of the five people who live at a Newark home that caught was Monday night was injured by the flames or smoke.

All firefighters also emerged unscathed. "It took approximately 40 minutes for total knock down," the Alameda County Fire Department said on social media.

The Red Cross was contacted to help the displaced residents.

The fire was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the 35,100 block of Charmwood Court.
