The CHP suspects a vehicle heading to a recycling center lost the bounty.

Thousands of cans rolled onto all lanes of Interstate Highway 880 Tuesday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
The CHP received a report of a spill on northbound Highway 880 from Whipple Road to Tennyson Road around 9:30 a.m., CHP Officer Joseph Fowler said
Fowler attributed the spillage to some type of truck heading for a recycling center.
