Street Closures Saturday For Newark Days

NEWARK, CA — Newark Days is this weekend, Friday night through Sunday, and that means street closures to accommodate the annual Newark Days Parade and Newark Mile.

They will both take place Saturday morning. The Newark Mile is at 9 a.m., followed by the Heroes are Super Parade at 9:45.

No Parking signs with the affected times are posted on and around the Parade route. Move your vehicle in advance or face a towing charge.

All intersections along the parade route will be closed to through traffic. Travelers will experience traffic delays due to road closures for the movement of parade participants.

Road Closures are as follows:
From 5:00 a.m. to the end of the parade:
• Newark Blvd. in both directions from Civic Terrace to Cedar Blvd.
• Thornton Ave in both directions from Cherry St to Mayhews Landing Dr.
• Cedar Blvd. in both directions from Newark Blvd. to Edgewater Dr.
• Mayhews Landing Rd (both directions) from Fair Ave. to Newark Blvd.
• Lake Blvd. from Parkshore Dr. to Cedar Blvd.
• Chapman Dr. from Blackburn Dr. to Cedar Blvd.
