Truck Crash Caused Newark Closure

The closure increased traffic on other streets.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police asked drivers to avoid Thornton Avenue between Gateway Boulevard and Willow Street because of a truck crash Wednesday morning. It has since been cleared.

A truck went off the road, forcing a recovery operation and street closure.

Commercial trucks were routed to southbound Newark Boulevard from Highway 84 and onto Jarvis Avenue from Thornton Avenue.
