Beer lovers are in for a sweet surprise thanks to a jelly bean the Jelly Belly Candy Company debuted in San Francisco over the weekend.
The Fairfield-based candy company unveiled what may be the world's first beer-flavored jelly bean that took three years in the making,Ā according to a company statement.

The non-alcoholicĀ Draft Beer FlavorĀ Jelly Bean, which is inspired by aĀ Hefeweizen flavor,Ā debuted during the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco over the weekend.
āUsually the factory has a sweet and fruity aroma, but when weāre making this flavor itās just like being in an ale house,āĀ a company statementĀ quotedĀ Jeff Brown, vice president in charge of manufacturing for Jelly Belly Candy Company, as saying. Ā

Those looking to liven up their palate can combine the beer-flavored jellybeans with other flavors to make a beer sangria, beer cider or Michelada, according to the blog "The Beeroness."
The new beer-flavored jelly beans will be available around the world in the coming months.
