ProSport was founded in 1992 by OC native Joe Donohue. Under Donohue’s leadership, the business has has grown to three locations in the County with a client roster that includes professional athletes to weekend warriors.

The Newport-Mesa ProSport was the first location, and now there are ProSport locations in Rancho Santa Margarita and Laguna Hills.

Donohue received his Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach, in 1986. While playing football at CSULB for four years as starting linebacker and team captain, was the recipient of numerous awards on and off the field. He became a two-time Academic All-American, and was chosen as one of 11 student athletes nationwide to receive the NCAA post-graduate scholarship.

In the early 80s, Donohue signed a free-agent contract with the Oakland Invaders of the USFL, a short-lived professional American football league.

After the USFL folded, Donohue resumed his studies in physical therapy and founded ProSport Physical Therapy in May 1992, opening the first facility in Newport Beach.

Twelve years later, Donohue opened a second facility in Rancho Santa Margarita, and now another in Laguna Hills. Each 10,000 sq. ft.+ facility incapsulates his vision of injury prevention, sports performance training and physical therapy under one roof.
