Boat Parade Awards/Auction Event Is Jan. 25

The Christmas Boat Parade awards dinner Jan. 25 will not only honor those who won for the 104th parade and the Ring of Lights waterfront decorating competition, but also will raise funds for next year's parade.

“More boats and homes participated in 2012 than in previous years, and the awards dinner is a great way to honor their involvement in this community tradition,” said Marie Case, chairwoman of the event, which is open to the public and hosted by the Commodores Club of the Chamber of Commerce at the Balboa Bay Club and Resort.

Auction items will include travel excursions, fine dining, jewelry, art and hotel stays. Entertainment will be provided by cover band Instant Replay.

Tickets are $125 and include a four-course dinner with wine.
