Body Found in Arizona Confirmed as Missing Newport Beach Doctor
The 71-year-old's body was discovered on the grounds of a luxury rehab center by a man on horseback.

Arizona medical examiners confirmed today that the body found on the grounds of the Sierra Tuscon Rehabilitation Center earlier this week is that of Dr. Ken Litwack.
On Aug. 12, Litwack, 71, checked himself into the rehabilitation center, which bills itself as a "serene, private center for recovery" from addictions and behavioral disorders. He came up missing on the afternoon of Aug. 16, according to the authorities in Arizona. On Tuesday, a decomposed body matching Litwack’s description was discovered on the grounds of the rehabilitation center.
“The Pima County medical examiner's office has confirmed the identification of the body discovered on the grounds of the Sierra Tucson [Rehabilitation Center] to be that of Kenneth Litwack, 71,” Pinal County Sheriff’s Office public information officer, Elias Johnson, said Friday.

After discovering no signs of Litwack, the search for the Newport Beach doctor was called off on Aug. 23. However, eight days later, a man riding a horse near the rehabilitation center spotted the body.
During the investigation, Litwack’s family informed authorities that Litwack suffered from confusion, which likely caused him to walk off.
