CdM Soccer Sea Queens Escape Upset
Corona del Mar High team trails Yucaipa at halftime, but pulls out playoff victory.

After a first-half scare, Corona del Mar High School's girls soccer team advanced to the CIF playoff quarterfinals, according to a report in the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
The Sea Queens trailed the Yucaipa Thunderbirds 1-0 at halftime on Wednesday, but rallied in the second half with two quick goals and won 2-1.
Unranked Yucaipa, which won the Citrus Belt League this year, was left to agonize over the missed opportunity.

“I wanted this game more than any game I’ve ever coached,” Yucaipa coach Sheila Huggins told the Press-Enterprise. “Just because the OC never gives us respect. We were good all year and didn’t even get ranked in the top 10. Then we get the No. 1 team in the second round and we’re right there. This one hurts more than any of them.”
