Coastal Art, Earth Mom Landscapes At John Wayne Airport

These landscapes that are featured this month at John Wayne Airport's community focus space celebrate the Orange County coastline.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — If you stroll through the community focus space at John Wayne Airport this fall you'll see the iconic landscapes by artist Steve Wang. His take on the Orange County coastline, as well as a few beauties showcasing the Grand Canyon, are not to be missed.

Inspired by the colors and movement found in nature, Steve Wang’s landscapes reflect a love for natural and harmonic living. The exhibit runs from August 14 – September 13.

“Mr. Wang’s paintings reflect scenes of the stunning natural beauty found in Orange County,” said Orange County Board of Supervisors Chair Andrew Do. “Visitors and residents alike will enjoy these depictions of our magnificent coastline.”

Born to an artist father in China, Steve Wang grew up in Taiwan. His homeland was a place of natural and harmonic living where people carried a deep appreciation of the sounds, scents, colors and movement of nature. The art in Steve Wang’s mind comes from the earth mom, a natural expression of his love for the harmony found in nature.

Steve Wang completed his architectural design bachelor's degree in Taiwan and did graduate study at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. After a long career as an architectural designer and illustrator, Steve now devotes his energy to the pursuit of fine art. Steve has taught oil painting at Irvine Valley college since 2004.
