Corona Del Mar Sea Kings Have CIF Football Dreams In 2019

Corona Del Mar High School has big dreams for this season, as football players start their training camp.

CORONA DEL MAR, CA — With some of the top-ranking talent in southern California, the Corona Del Mar Sea Kings aim to make another run toward the CIF title in 2019.

Senior Mark Redman, already committed to Washington, last year caught 54 passes for 589 yards, according to ScorebookLive.com, who listed Redman as #34 in their top 100 southern California athletes list.

Senior Ethan Garbers, also committed to Washington, threw for 4,135 yards and 55 touchdowns in 2018. He was voted #18 by ScorebookLive.com.

The 9th top athlete in the list was Senior John Humphreys, wide receiver, caught 103 receptions for 1,783 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns. Humphreys has committed to Stanford University.

And those are just a few Sea Kings to watch.

This year, the boys will scrimmage Aug. 16 vs. Tesoro, and have their first home game Aug. 23 vs. Downey. Other home games this season include:

  • Sept. 19 vs. Lakewood
  • Sept. 26 vs. San Clemente
  • Oct. 11 vs. Edison
  • Nov. 1 vs. Los Alamitos.
