Downed Traffic Light Leads To Road Closure Near JWA

IRVINE, CA — Drivers heading westbound on Michelson will find that it is closed between Von Karman and Bixby. A car struck the Bixby traffic signal, downing it into lanes on Thursday morning, officials said.

That roadway was expected to remain closed until 4 p.m. Thursday, Irvine Police reported.

"Repairs will take longer than initially expected," police said. Drivers were asked to seek alternate routes while the traffic pole was being repaired.
