Moroney was part of the "Fierce 5" gymnasts from the Team U.S.A. in the 2012 summer Olympics. That year, she won the gold medal in the vault. She also won the gold at the World Championships in 2017.

Since that time, Moroney offers Cameo messages of support and inspiration to fans and followers.

Also in 2017, she joined the lawsuit that ignited the sport of gymnastics with allegations against the disgraced team USA physician, Larry Nassar. Moroney described her account on her Facebook page, that the team doctor had molested her since the age of 13.
